Meet the Photographers

GINA:  My name is Gina and I am a freelance photographer from New Zealand.  I live in Phuket with my husband Tim, our son Kingston and baby number two is on the way.

At university I studied newspaper journalism including courses in art and photography.  I worked as  a reporter and photographer on newspapers in New Zealand before heading overseas a decade ago.  This journey has taken me around Europe and Asia and now Thailand has become home.

Earlier this year I launched a wedding planning business.  The Romance Planners was started because so often I saw customers who would have benefited from having a wedding coordinator.  Sometimes when I was photographing I wanted to jump in and deal with those problems that were often easy to solve but could escalate into chaos and stress if not fixed.  And I had an extensive knowledge of vendors, venues and wedding day schedules after photographing hundreds of weddings from beginning to end.  It was a natural business progression and has quickly become very successful.  With all these changes going on it was time to revamp the website and introduce the rest of the team!

MAMBO:  I met Mambo several years ago when I was doing a commercial shoot for a boxing gym.  I was heavily pregnant so I couldn’t do the final part of the job which was photographing a boxing match in Patong.  Mambo was hired to do the job, and I was so impressed with his work.  Shortly after I hired him to take our family portraits and he did an awesome job.  We started photographing weddings together and have worked together since.

Mambo has a degree in Arts and Communication and is talented in many areas of photography including weddings, fashion, architecture and travel.  See the blog for examples of his wonderful work.

JARAN: I also met Jaran several years ago while photographing a wedding on a remote island off Phuket.  He was doing the videography that day and really he’s equally skilled in photography and videography. It is quite rare to find someone multi-talented in both medias.

Jaran is a lot of fun to work with, has endless energy and enthusiasm and and is a master with flash photography. Customers always comment about how relaxed they were during photo shoots with Jaran.

His hometown is Trang so he loves traveling to weddings and pre-wedding shoots in the Phang Nga, Krabi, Koh Samui and Koh Lanta areas. See the blog for examples of his beautiful work.
