Rainy Day Phuket Wedding

Debbie and Dave got married twice in a day! At a Buddhist ceremony at Wat Chalong in the morning and again at a private villa in Kata, Phuket in the late afternoon.

Unfortunately it rained in the afternoon and the ceremony had to be held indoors instead of the deck overlooking the ocean. Although a little disappointing it did stop enough for photos outside a bit later. It’s not always sunny in Phuket but when it does rain it’s not usually for long. If you suspect rain go for an earlier ceremony time of 4 pm or 4.30 pm so you have a little time to work with. And always make sure there is a back-up location for the ceremony to be held indoors. And put lemon grass in the soi the night before girls! This is an old Thai tradition that is still sometimes followed. It should be done by a virgin and then it is believed by some that it won’t rain on the wedding day.

You can guess by the photos that Debbie and Dave are cat crazy. Especially Debbie so she had photos of her beloved cats at the wedding and some feline wedding accessories. There are actually cats that live at this villa so the villa manager brought one to the ceremony. Cute! Photography by Gina & Mambo.
