Emma describes her parents as “love birds.” And she knew that while they were all together on holiday in Phuket that she had the chance to plan a beautiful event that would take them back to their memories 30 years earlier when they honeymooned on the same island.
Back then Phuket was undeveloped and tourism was just beginning. The roads were few and rough and there were only a couple resorts to choose from. Emma asked me if we could arrange an intimate vow renewal ceremony on the beach at sunset and she needed help to set-up the flowers, find a venue and book photography, flowers and a celebrant.
At Baan Rim Pa on the beach at sunset their friends and family gathered around. Her parents believed they were going for a family photo shoot. On arrival at the restaurant they realised something was up when they were blindfolded. With total trust, excitement and laughter they were guided down the steps to the beach and the scene was revealed.
They had the very emotional wedding ceremony followed by family and couple photography on the beach and post-ceremony wedding drinks at Joe’s Downstairs then went to the private Silk room at Baan Rim Pa for a lovely dinner.
Even after bring a Phuket wedding planner for many years this is the first time a daughter requested a surprise vow renewal for her mother and father. What an amazing daughter and incredible event that they will always remember ~ photography by Jaran.
