Krystal emailed me and asked if I would consider doing a first look with her and Grant before they got married. Of course! To have that extra time for bridal shots before the ceremony is always wonderful no matter how hot it is in Thailand.
The wedding and reception was at Katathani Resort & Spa and luckily Krystal’s friends were staying at The Shore (part of Katathani but quite exclusive and normally we are not allowed there for photos). So it was the perfect backdrop for Grant to see Krystal for the first time.
Just a quick explanation about first look. Skip this part if you know. The bride and groom see each other before the ceremony to have more time for photos. Most Thailand weddings are held around sunset so time for bridal party and couple photos are limited so it’s lovely to have extra time. But the heat is a factor against it. If you allow time and your make-up artist can wait for touch ups so you are back in the room an hour before the ceremony it is worth the effort. And it’s always a nice and personal moment that you see each other for the first time. Again worth it if you can give up the moment of traditional of seeing each other walking down the aisle for the first time. So here you see some first look photos and Grant was overwhelmed with emotion as he saw Krystal. And again as she walked down the aisle with her father a few hours later.
Their ceremony was beautiful and emotional, stylish and modern and with many personal touches added. I had to post a photo of the dinner table name cards that Krystal made. She put funny photos of all of her friends and family on the tables – so amusing and original ~ hair and make-up by Lisa Allen, photography by Gina.
