About a year before the Marriott wedding I met Leisa & Ardyn in Phuket for an engagement photo shoot around Sai Yuan and Naiharn areas. They were so much fun and very excited about the wedding. And obviously gorgeous. And Ardyn is a fellow Kiwi so it’s always nice to see someone from back home.

The couple hired Annette from Travel Managers and Thai the Knot weddings to plan the big day. Working with Annette is always great because she’s very organized, down to earth and friendly and works tirelessly to make each wedding unique and personalized for the couples who come to Phuket for their weddings. Last month she was onsite in Phuket for a few weeks so we had some time to hang out and work some weddings together and also go out for dinner and relax.

Everyone arrived to Marriott Merlin Beach Resort the week before the wedding and the sightseeing, shopping, partying, reunions and celebrations began. The boys took a private boat charter with La Moet and the girls had plenty of spa and cocktail time.

On the wedding day bridal hair and make-up was done by the talented Phuket-based UK stylist Lisa Allen. The bride had prepared nice details including personalized socks and underwear for the boys, lovely gifts for the girls including matching bathrobes, hash tags on the bottom of the bridesmaids shoes and her new married name engraved on her Tiffany & Co perfume bottle. Photographers love these details. We can’t get enough.

The bride wore a gorgeous lace dress and the bridesmaids wore wine-colored wrap dresses which were elegant and bridal but also could easily be worn again for another occasion. Leisa wore the same dress for the engagement session. Her bouquet was white roses and lisanthasis with greenery.

The ceremony was beautiful and enjoyed by the 90 guests from around the world. After the wedding vows and ring exchange the couple did a sand pouring ritual and signed the certificate then joyfully walked down the aisle under a shower of petals and love.

Dinner was in the ballroom after the cocktail hour and bridal party photo and video time. After the Thai buffet dinner the reception was packed with speeches, cake cutting, photo booth fun and dancing. It was a party to remember for sure. Wishing you both the best life can bring ~ photography & videography by Gina, Jaran & team.
