We had a dreamy, delicious, relaxing and fun afternoon at the Boat House Phuket brunch on Sunday. I hadn’t realized it would be so luxurious but found out from the moment we arrived and was handed a glass of lovely champagne and taken to our table outside overlooking sunny Kata Beach.

Chef Pinyo invited us to try the specially designed brunch that will be happening several more times this high season with variations each time so it’s always changing. Really delicious, fresh food with perfectly prepared seafood and healthy salads, roasted vegetables. I hadn’t had beetroot for so long and it reminds me of home and xmas. I was with my friend Carole who is a chef from Toronto and has just arrived in Phuket and also with another wedding planner Don. We had such a nice time talking and eating at a leisurely pace and enjoying the live music. It was bliss, totally an extraordinary experience.

And then the cheese board. I call it a cheese board to be dramatic. It was actually a table of cheese, nuts, crackers and fruit with the most amazing selection imaginable. The goat’s cheese – in love. Really worth going just for the cheese alone. There was one cheese I’ve never seen before that looked like a rock. Here is a photo since it’s hard to describe. Beautifully presented and so indulgent. I love cheese in case you didn’t get that.

The Boat House recently underwent a huge re-design. I always loved that place so it was hard to imagine how it could be better. But it is much improved. Now there’s more of a focus on nautical style in the rooms and in the architecture and details of the entire place. The staff have really fresh navy and white uniforms. And the rooms give a subtle and unique feeling of being aboard a boat, living up to the name The Boat House.

Thank you to chef Pinyo for the kind invitation. I call him captain Pinyo now actually. A title well-deserved since he’s been working at The Boat House Phuket for 27 years. Not a typo, really he’s dedicated much of his working life to this pretty restaurant and resort on the beach and you can see every time you meet him that it’s his joy and pleasure to be there. Many of the staff have been there for many years actually as have many of the patrons, locals living on the island and tourists returning time and time again.

Book your accommodation at Boat House Phuket, treat yourself to brunch, romantic dining or just cocktails at sunset but don’t miss experiencing The Boat House. You will feeling blessed every moment you are there.
