Low season in Phuket is the time when most of us in the wedding and tourism industry have time to squeeze in a little vacation time of our own. It’s super nice to be a tourist for a chance. I went to Hoi An in Vietnam for 4 days with Mum & Ross (without the kids so I had more than 1 cocktail in the evenings and slept in every day).

We stayed at Anantara Hoi An and it was lovely. I have always been a fan of Anantara properties and this one lived up to my expectations. I think the warmth of the staff is one big part of the feeling at Anantara. There was an old man painting the wall outside my room when I checked in and he came back every day with 2 bottles of water for me. He was the gardener. Is that staged? Does the gardener deliver all the water to all of the rooms? I don’t know but it made me happy. Obviously I’m easily pleased. Best iced coffee ever. And when I left at dawn on the last day I was given breakfast in a box. And wifi in the cars even way up in the mountains. And luxury and it was a beautiful holiday.

Below are some photos taken in the old town and there is my mum smiling like always. Thanks for the holiday Mum xxx ~ photography by Gina.
